For many, the automobile is seen as merely a tool or an object of desire. For others, it is a lifestyle, an obsession and something that stirs us emotionally.

Blackbird Automotive was established as a multi-faceted organisation that celebrates all aspects of the motor car. Not only are we engaged in the commerce of automobiles old and new, we celebrate and showcase these amazing machines through hands-on work and through our various publications and channels.

From our Blackbird Heritage Motorworks facility to our publication, Blackbird Automotive Journal, and through our team comprising of experienced, life-long enthusiasts, we hope to share our philosophy on design, passion and the automobile as a medium to all of you around the world. Through building, maintaining, restoring, researching, writing, photographing, recording and sharing stories about these machines, we have developed a true appreciation of the mechanics, precision and engineering that gives credence to the automobile as a cultural icon.

Blackbird Automotive isn’t simply about the automobile as an object of desire. It is a pursuit of excellence and also a search for others who share the same design sensibility and philosophy as we do. I hope you will join us in this movement.

Welcome to Blackbird Automotive.

Ferrari 365 GTB4

On behalf of the owner, Blackbird Automotive is delighted to offer for sale a truly outstanding example of Ferrari’s iconic 365 GTB/4 – the ‘Daytona’. Originally supplied by Maranello Concessionaires in the UK and delivered by Sytner of Nottingham on 2 May 1972 to its first owner in Sussex, the car was subsequently purchased by a local businessman. The new owner then shipped it to Hong Kong and licensed the car in March 1986,

since when it has continued to receive regular servicing by the official Ferrari importer and distributor. The current owner completed his purchase in July 2003 and in 2011, he commissioned a comprehensive restoration programme, once again undertaken by the main agent, Italian Motors (Sales & Service).

During the car’s earlier life, the interior colour scheme was changed and wishing to return the car to its original factory-build

specification of Rosso Chiaro with Nero leather and grey carpets, the current owner asked for this work to be done. At the same time, the dashboard was re-trimmed with the correct mouse hair material, the headlining and sun visors replaced together with new door panels, rear parcel shelf and seat covers. The air conditioning controls were also returned to their original position on the switch panel and new and correct aluminium frames around the instruments were fitted.

Once this work was complete, #15523 was then Ferrari Classiche certified and pronounced correct in all respects. The car will be supplied with its red folder, wallet and original handbooks and a comprehensive service and restoration file. The current ‘GT 8365’ licence number can be purchased separately if required.

This is a magnificent example of the Daytona, licensed in Hong Kong and ready to drive and enjoy.

Priced at HK$9,200,000.
